Michelle is a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at Purdue University and her Master’s degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Michelle has over 11 years of experience working in the field of psychology/counseling.

Michelle spent the beginning of her professional career working in a community mental health setting where she facilitated groups and delivered individual therapy to adults with chronic mental health issues. In 2015, Michelle began to focus her career on assisting individuals who were struggling with substance abuse and who were involved in the legal system by helping to develop and implement a drug court program in Kendall County. While Michelle worked with Kendall County’s Drug Court team, she also began her career in private practice. Michelle works with individuals ages 12 and up as well as couples. Michelle specializes in treating mood disorders, substance abuse, relational conflict, grief, anger and life transitional issues.

More recently, Michelle met the increased need and interest for TeleHealth services by engaging in trainings and became a Certified Clinical Telemental Health Provider. At the same time, Michelle also engaged in trainings to become a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional in order to strengthen her skills in helping patients who suffer from anxiety. 

Michelle uses a client-centered approach when working with clients in an effort to create a comfortable environment for them to identify and process problem areas in their lives. She also incorporates other evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Positive Psychology. Michelle teaches clients effective coping strategies for stressors they are experiencing in their lives and gives them the tools they need to ultimately improve the quality of life.
